Xiaomi Mi5, Mi5 Plus Leaked Specifications

Xiaomi just launched the Mi 4i last week. This does not mean that the Chinese manufacturer is delaying the launch of its flagship device Mi5, in fact it is looking to launch the Mi5 pretty soon. According to a report from Gizmochina, the alleged Mi5 has been leaked on Chinese Social media website, Weibo, and also that the device will be available in July.

The report claims that the phone will feature a 5.2 inch screen, a little bigger than the standard 5 inch display it featured on the previous two flagships. The phone will carry specs that are pretty similar  to what we got on the Mi 4, like the 3GB or 4GB RAM and a 16 Megapixel front facing snapper assisted by at least 8 Megapixel front facing camera. The major difference that will bring the Mi5 at par with other flagships in the market is the Snapdragon 810 processor which has a substantial lead over the Snapdragon 801 on the previous flagship.

Other than the processor, the phone might also feature a fingerprint sensor. We can say this because Xiaomi just patented a new fingerprint technology that is most likely to feature on the Mi 5.

According to the report, the Chinese company will also launch a new device along with the flagship. A device that will sport a much larger 6 inch display with 2K resolution. This device might carry a bigger battery to push the extra pixels and 4GB RAM for smooth multi-tasking. In terms of camera it might feature the same 16 Megapixel sensor but with inbuilt optical image stabilization. The phone should be powered by the Snapdragon 810.

Xiaomi has an intelligent strategy of releasing its flagship in that time of the year when most of the major flagships have passed their hype. The Mi5 does not sound that impressive on the paper but factors like design and price are still in the dark which can make or break the sales of the device
