How Windows 10 will work with Android and iPhones ?

Microsoft has published a new blog post detailing how Windows 10 will love all your hardware, no matter what operating system or ecosystem it may be a part of. Have an iPhone or an old printer? No problem.

The company is focusing on the more connected world where technology is swapped and mixed on a daily basis. You could be rocking a tablet one minute and be enjoying a film on your smart TV the next. Microsoft wants Windows 10 to be center stage. It's clear Microsoft is seeking to include those who choose to use products from other vendors simply by analysing the new services launched for iOS and Android alone.

The Phone Companion app is also touched upon in the blog post, which enables you to choose which phone you own - be it a Windows Phone, Android or iPhone. The tool will help those with the latter two get set up and configured for a seamless experience. There are various bonuses to using Microsoft's own services too, including Xbox Music.
"With the latest upcoming version of the Music app, you'll be able to store and access your music from OneDrive not only on your PC but now also play it anywhere, for free, on your iOS or Android phone (this already works on Windows phones). This means the music playlists you spend hours putting together on your Windows 10 PC will now show up and be playable on your phone, automatically."
Cortana will also be making her way to Android and iPhones, which will connect to Windows 10 as a companion app. Using the Phone Companion app on Windows 10 will aid those with both platforms to get started with Microsoft's personal assistant. It's a neat move by Microsoft to include more consumers into the Windows ecosystem by making it easier to get connected.
"At Microsoft, we want everyone to love not just their Windows 10 PC, but all the devices they own, working with their Windows 10 PC."
So, how does one get involved? You'll need to join the Windows Insider Program to test out the Phone Companion app on an upcoming Windows 10 Insider Preview build, which will be out in "a few weeks". Cortana is also expected to be made availabe for iPhones and Android handsets by the end of June, alongside the updated Xbox Music app.

Cortana is out for iPhone, iPad and Android

On iPhone and Android, for example, Cortana will show up as an app and can be used in much the same way as Cortana on Windows Phone. Ask questions, get answers, reminders and so on.

We'll be back with more on this soon, but for now, check out the video for yourselves below. Cortana's going to be everywhere with Windows 10, and Microsoft really means everywhere.

Android apps on windows 10 doesn't work as same as in android phones

Windows 10 for Phone entered public beta in the for of Insider program early this year and it promised a lot of things, specially UI changes, everything in works seems to be going well, though with a lot of bugs , Insiders are giving as much feedback as possible (including me) but that’s not the only thing that Windows Phone needs, it needs apps. Microsoft hence had a plan and has finally confirmed this is Build 2015 that Windows 10 for Phones will run Android apps inside a sub system.

Android apps will be available only for Phones and small tablets, not for PC’s or desktops running Windows 10.
The sub system will be based on KitKat “We believe we’ll have decent compatibility because this is AOSP,” says Microsoft’s Kevin Gallo.
This said, let everyone here know that every Android app cannot run on Windows 10 for Phone, there are certain things the app can do and cant and since the apps will be running on Microsoft’s services and not Android’, it will have to follow some set of instructions making it a universal app as well as keeping the Windows app security model.
According to Kevin, this will make sure the apps run the Windows behavior, wont run in the background and will be well behaved. With this, there will be no loss in standard capabilities including camera, file picker and other stuff.
User can download apps from the Windows Store and not the Play Store, obviously, and everyone here should know complex applications cannot run in this sub system because of a lot of work that will need to be redone in order to support Microsoft’s services. There has been a huge hype about Rudy Huyn explaining exactly what are the possibilities of running Android apps or even having Android Universal apps.
We wont give you guys false hopes, but do not expect Android apps like Instagram and maps based apps to be running on Windows 10, most of the apps that are going to come are going to be simple ones, mostly according to some phrases Rudy spoke about, it could be easy enough to port games, but not complex apps.

Windows 10 Photos app finally gets Albums

Windows 10 for Phones has been on a delay for updates but we keep getting some new screenshots on the web, here is more showing the Album feature in Windows 10 for Phones.
UI based changes in the last few leaks have been a bulk, right form startscreen tile gap closing in, completely transparent tiles, new Outlook UI and a lot more.

Now the above screenshot(Left) from official slides shows how the Photos app UI will changes in future builds. On the right is a screenshot from the latest Build 10052.
  • Albums will be finally here. The Photos app can auto-create albums that much we know but you can have a look at how it will look.
  • The menu will move to bottom and that will be really helpful in using multiple selections of the images

The new service lets you conveniently order food directly from Google search results.

When you search for nearby restaurants, you'll now find an option called "Place an order" that directs you to build your order a food delivery service, all without having to visit the restaurant's website.

Currently, Google is collaborating with six food ordering services in the US, including Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24, Delivery.com, BeyondMenu and MyPizza.com, with more set to be added at a later date.
